L. Manlius Torquatus, 82 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.93 g, 4 h), with L. Cornelius Sulla, military mint moving with Sulla. L•MANLI•T - PRO•Q Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. L•SVLLA•IMP Sulla driving triumphal quadriga to right, holding caduceus in his right hand and reins in his left; above, Victory flying left, crowning Sulla with wreath. Babelon (Manlia) 7 and (Cornelia) 42. Crawford 367/3. RBW 1384. Sydenham 759. Perfectly centered and attractively toned, and with a superb pedigree. Light deposits and with very minor edge filing at 2-3 o'clock on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
